Trump Eyeing Disaster Funds for Wall ‘Outrageous,’ Harris Says

Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris of California said on "Morning Joe" Friday that she's still undecided about running against President Donald Trump in 2020.

"What are we thinking about in terms of recognizing that some people will applaud China for its efficiency and effectiveness and maybe even point to it as the new model of economic power".

"We need to give the American public more credit", Harris added. The tentative plan is for Harris to enter the race with a campaign rally in the city where she was born and began her legal career.

"I might", Harris said, smiling and nodding, before breaking out into laughter.

Former Deputy Secretary of State: Trump's secrecy on Putin meetings 'outrageous'
She served on President Obama's National Security Council from 2009-2013 and at the Treasury Department under President George W. Trump said he believed the Russian president, contradicting the conclusions of the US intelligence community.

As a woman of color, Harris is no stranger to breaking the political glass ceiling in her state, which is why her mother warned her about the racial and gender stereotypes she would face.

Tapper noted that Wallace helped Harris run the California Department of Justice when she was the Attorney General. Harris is especially important because she's more representative of where the state is going than our senior senator, Dianne Feinstein, who is the oldest member of the Senate, and has been less than reliable when it comes to countering Trump. "But with each woman who gains success, I think there is a greater appreciation and understanding of the capacity and breadth and depth of who women are and what we can do", Ms. Harris said. Former US President Barack Obama described her as trailblazer. Trump had promised during his presidential campaign in 2016 that he would build a wall on the United States-Mexico border to prevent an influx of illegal immigrants. "Many people who put out books two years before a presidential election do so to introduce themselves in a broad way to the American people".

The White House has directed the Army Corps of Engineers to examine a February 2018 emergency spending bill, which included disaster relief for Puerto Rico and other areas, to see what funds could be diverted to a border wall, according to a congressional aide who asked for anonymity to discuss private briefings by the administration. Democrats are refusing to allocate the money, arguing that a wall would be costly and ineffective. Kamala Harris is taking on what could be a hurdle in a Democratic primary: her past as a prosecutor. I also do believe that in the passion, what we also do have to check, as a separate matter, is that there are also very ... powerful voices in our country that are sowing hate and division among us.
