The LC convertible will make its first public appearance at the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next week alongside the RC F Track Pack (which will use a similar version of that V8).
Don't be confused by the Concept tag, though.
An open-air roadster that is an artful reflection of the LC coupe, the design goal of the Convertible concept was the expression of "ultimate beauty". The LC does also feature the same 2+2 seating layout as all of these cars.
Lexus hasn't mentioned what the concept is packing under the bonnet, but we suspect it boasts the same naturally aspirated 5,0-litre V8 (and ten-speed automatic transmission) as the coupé.
It's not clear whether the contoured rear hides a folding hard-top or a fabric roof, but the recent trend towards the latter would suggest that Lexus fits a soft-top.
Kamala Harris set to toss hat into presidential ring
Tapper noted that Wallace helped Harris run the California Department of Justice when she was the Attorney General. Kamala Harris is taking on what could be a hurdle in a Democratic primary: her past as a prosecutor.
Crisp white leather trim abounds while yellow accent stitching adds colour without distracting from the subtle elegance of the overall design.
Technical specifications have yet to be released, but we'd expect a production version to soldier on with the same two engine options as the coupé. It rides on 22-inch wheels that look fantastic, but that will probably be dropped on the way to actual production in favour of 20- or 21-inch units.
Lexus designer Tadao Mori says that "A production version of this concept would be exhilarating in many different ways".
In addition, the Japanese say a potential production-ready version of this prototype would be "more than just a grand tourer" but also a performance vehicle - a trait best underlined by the short overhangs and 22-inch wheels. "It would engage the senses in an exciting way, every time you get behind the wheel", said Mori.
